History of JavaScript

Myth:

Most of us would think that IE was the main browser that javascript started out with.

I decided to went googling about javascript to find out its orgin. To my surprise javascript was first used in NETSCAPE. Unfortunately for this once dominant web browser , its usage has almost disappear.

What i found out was that javascript did not start out as a language itself. Apparently during the early 1990s, webpages were mostly static and unappealing. Brendan Eich of Netscape created Mocha (later renamed to LiveScript) was created to make it more interactive. Netscape integrated Livescript inside its browser hence it does not required the code to be compiled. At the same time another language, Java which has became quite popular with the Netscape started appearing although it needed a plugin. Netscape decided to cash in on that by adding in java technology and rename it to Javascript. The naming of the script was confusing as it is gave the impression it was a spin of from java. Many characterized it as a marketing ploy by Netscape. Java script despite its name is not relevant to java programming. Its key design principle within javascript is derived from scheme and self programming. It is how amazing all the languages are linked together one way or another.

Other variation like DHTML(HTML + Javascript) allows more interactive webpages to be created.

here are some free script you can use for your webpages to make it more interactive.

However, because javascript is very interactive. It allows some control to be done by user site.
Click on the photo below to see whats the different. There are a lot of websites which shows you how this codes are done.
